MOQ, sampling and production questions for Novelty buyers

Novelty develops and supplies bead strands and assortments, jewelry findings, custom and private-label jewelry, and complete DIY craft kits. Selected accessories, décor and packaging can be reviewed with the brief. We confirm the material and production route for the proposed programme.

Testing and labelling are planned for the exact product, intended user, age group and destination. The review may include CPSIA, ASTM F963, EN 71, REACH, Proposition 65 or nickel-release requirements where applicable. Novelty can coordinate samples and technical information for an appropriately scoped third-party laboratory. Any available report must be checked for the product, materials, date and test scope it identifies; there is no blanket certificate covering every product.

Standard bead orders start at 200 strands, bags or cards per colour, according to the quoted supply format. A unit means the complete strand, bag or card specified in the quotation. The number of beads in each strand or pack is stated separately.

Standard jewelry orders start at 100 finished pieces per SKU, and standard craft kit orders start at 100 complete kits per SKU. Different colours, sizes or designs are counted as separate SKUs. Each SKU must meet its own minimum.

Tooling, specialised materials, finishes and complex packaging may require a higher minimum. Charms, findings and selected accessories are quoted for the item and supply format.

Each colour, size or design variant is counted as a separate SKU for jewelry and kits. For example, one jewelry design offered in two colours is two SKUs, each with a standard minimum of 100 pieces. A mixed bead assortment is reviewed for its component colours and quoted pack format.

Using an existing construction can reduce development work and tooling risk. It does not automatically reduce the standard minimum order quantity. The quotation confirms the applicable minimum for the selected product and its packaging.

Pricing identifies the supply unit, material, construction, colour, quantity, packaging, testing and delivery term. Bead quotations state the strand, bag or card format and the contents of that unit. Compare quotations on the same specification and quantity basis.

Yes. Send reference images or drawings, the intended user, target market, dimensions, materials, quantity, target cost and launch timing. We identify the open decisions and propose a costed sample route before development begins.

The agreed sample scope may include material sourcing, a prototype, buyer comments and documented revisions. Before work begins, the quotation identifies the sample charge, tooling or development work, included revisions, schedule and approval requirements.

Checks are set against the approved sample and specification, including materials, dimensions, colour, finish, construction, component count, packaging and labels. The order-specific quality plan identifies incoming, first-article, in-process, final and shipment checks as appropriate, with agreed sample quantities and acceptance criteria.

Yes. Options can include printed or gift boxes, display cards, hang tags, bags, polybags, barcode labels, care cards and instruction inserts. Product, pack contents, artwork, label data and carton configuration are reviewed together. The buyer approves final content and artwork before production.

EXW, FOB or DDP can be discussed where the route and destination allow. The quotation specifies the named place, freight arrangements, included costs and any clearance or receiving requirements. Production time and transit time are separate parts of the delivery plan.

We work with brands, wholesalers, chain and craft retailers, licensed-product businesses, boutiques, kit brands, subscription boxes and online sellers. A suitable programme depends on the category, standard MOQ, required specification, market and delivery plan.

Samples using available references are commonly ready in 3 to 7 business days after the brief, required specifications and materials are confirmed. New colour, finish or packaging work commonly takes 7 to 15 business days. New tooling, unusual materials and revisions are scheduled in the quotation.

The quotation confirms the sample charge, tooling or development charges, included revision work and any conditions for crediting sample charges to a bulk order. A sample charge is not automatically refundable or creditable.

Repeat items are commonly produced in 20 to 45 business days after sample and material approval. New development, testing, packaging and shipment requirements are reviewed before the production schedule is confirmed. Production time and freight transit time are quoted separately.

Material, construction, finish, stones or resin, hand assembly, tooling, quantity, packaging and testing affect the cost. The quotation identifies the relevant assumptions and delivery term so the buyer can compare the same product and service scope.

Duty and clearance requirements depend on classification, materials, origin, destination and the agreed delivery route. Review the current position with your customs broker or the party responsible for clearance. We coordinate the shipment information and documents agreed for the order; any certificate of origin requirement is confirmed for that route.

Novelty coordinates the specification, sample approval, production route, quality checks, packaging and shipment plan through one project team. The quotation identifies the contracting entity and any externally sourced materials or processes relevant to the order.

Define a product range, intended customer and sales channel, then budget for samples, the first order, packaging, testing and delivery. Review the quantity for every colour, size or design before deciding the SKU count. Start development with a brief the buying team can approve.

Send drawings, reference images or a product direction with materials, dimensions, quantities by SKU, packaging and target market. We review the development route, sample scope and approval decisions. A complete technical pack is useful when available but is not required for the initial discussion.

Private labelling can use an available design or construction with agreed branding and packaging. This may reduce new development work; it does not automatically reduce the MOQ or transfer ownership of the underlying design. Availability and permitted use are confirmed before sampling.

Designs and artwork you supply remain yours. Before sampling, the agreement records ownership and permitted use of any supplier-developed design, mould or tooling, together with confidentiality and development charges. These terms depend on the actual programme.

Yes, where the product, minimum quantities, target market and timing fit the programme. Share the first-order quantity for each colour, size or design, rather than only the combined quantity across a collection.

Tell us whether the order will go to your warehouse, a nominated receiving location or another destination. Bulk shipment, marketplace receiving preparation, individual customer delivery and store integration are different service scopes. Only the delivery and handling services stated in the quotation are included.

2025 — Hong Kong website and contracting company. Novelty International Crafts Limited (貝吉國際（香港）實業有限公司) was incorporated in Hong Kong on 7 April 2025. It operates noveltyintl.com and handles customer contracting, payment collection and contract performance.

Yiwu — operations and production. Novelty Jewelry & Craft Co., Ltd (贝吉珠宝首饰（义乌）有限公司) is the Yiwu operating and production entity.

The 2010 date is the predecessor’s registration, not the Hong Kong company’s incorporation date. Review the entity history and records.

The jewelry MOQ does not establish the minimum for a separately printed box, card, pouch or insert. Ask for product quantities and packaging quantities as separate quotation lines. Confirm printing and tooling charges, quantities per artwork version, any surplus packaging and who holds it before approval.

For an Australian delivery quotation, provide the postcode and full receiving location, receiver type, quantity for each SKU, packaging and required delivery date. We review the route before offering a named delivery term and place. DDP is discussed only where available for the actual order and route.

Ask the quotation to separate product and packaging, sample or tooling charges, freight, clearance services, duties and taxes included in the offer. Confirm the importer and receiving responsibilities, exclusions and transit assumptions in writing. Production time and freight transit are quoted separately; delivery to a warehouse is distinct from individual consumer fulfilment.

Specify the component, base material, finish, intended skin contact, user and destination. The document must match the identified sample, material, finish, date and test scope.
