ONE SUPPLIER FOR THE WHOLE KIT

Control the build, not just the components.

A complete kit needs one approved component list, an activity sequence, instructions, artwork, packaging and a packing reference. The development plan records the open decisions and approvals that must be closed before production and pack-out.

  • Review the components to be produced or sourced for the activity.
  • Coordinate instruction copy, illustrations, translation and printing against buyer-approved versions.
  • Develop the agreed retail box, bag, card, tray or display format alongside the contents.
  • Confirm barcode and label data, component quantities and carton requirements in the packing reference.
  • Plan product-specific testing where required for the kit, intended user and market.

One coordinated programme can cover the complete kit, while the specification identifies component sources, production responsibilities, approved substitutions and the requirements for release. The scope and costs are confirmed in the quotation.

KIT TYPES

Programmes for adults, children and seasonal retail.

Jewelry-making kits

Beads, charms, cord, findings and any agreed tools are reviewed with the activity, instructions and retail presentation. Confirm the component quantities, dimensions, intended user and market before a sample is prepared.

Sand art kits

Sand, containers, funnels and any other components are specified for the approved activity, user and destination. Materials, component counts, instructions and packaging are reviewed as one kit.

Needlecraft kits

Selected felt, embroidery, cross-stitch and other needlecraft programmes are reviewed for the pattern, counted components, tools, instructions and pack format. The intended user and handling requirements are part of the sample brief.

String art, dream catcher and macramé kits

Boards, cord, pins, rings, beads and any templates are coordinated against an agreed activity and component list. Review the tools, instruction sequence, component count and packaging for the intended user.

Seasonal craft kits

Seasonal ranges are planned against the buyer’s artwork, sample, test, packaging and delivery approvals. Share the launch and receiving dates so the development and shipment plan can be reviewed before the order is confirmed.

Kids’ craft kits

For children’s kits, review the intended age, activity, components, small parts, tools, instructions and warnings before the testing plan is agreed. The product’s classification and destination determine the scope. A kit should not be treated as tested or compliant on the basis of a material name or a generic report.

Children’s kit development and testing review

  • Define the intended user, age group, destination and activity with the buyer.
  • Review the final component list, construction, instructions and packaging.
  • Agree the required laboratory scope, identified samples, costs and schedule before submission.
  • Review the report and any findings against the approved kit, and resolve changes before production release.
  • Reassess changes to materials, components, construction or packaging that may affect the evidence.

COMPONENTS & CONSUMABLES

Consolidate the approved material list.

Selected craft components can be reviewed alongside the finished kit, including wood blanks, buttons, ribbon, paper materials, stickers and other agreed parts. Availability, dimensions, materials, quantity and suitability are confirmed in the programme specification.

Paints, brushes and other consumables can be reviewed as sourced items when required. The quotation identifies the source, supply format and inspection responsibility for those items rather than treating them as core in-house production.

RETAIL PROGRAMMES

Make the range easy to buy, understand and replenish.

Wholesale craft supplies for retailers

Plan the range by activity, intended user, season or price direction, then agree each kit’s contents, instructions, packing format and quantity by SKU. The approved sample and carton information provide the reference for repeat orders.

Private-label and custom craft kits

Start with your concept or an available construction. Review the component list, sample, instruction sequence, barcode data, artwork and packing reference together. Existing constructions can reduce development work but do not automatically reduce the standard 100-kit minimum for each colour, size or design SKU.

Instructions, languages and retail pack-out

Instruction work can include copy, diagrams, translation coordination and printing. The buyer approves the final language versions, warnings, artwork and barcode data before production. Each version is identified in the approved reference so the kit, insert and packaging stay aligned.

Craft kits for subscription boxes

Share the activity, subscription theme, complete kit contents, recipient profile, box dimensions and delivery timing. We review the component list, instructions, protective packing and bulk delivery requirements against the order quantity for each kit SKU. Recurring programmes use the approved reference and agreed change-control process.

BUYER QUESTIONS

DIY craft kit FAQ.

Can you manufacture a craft kit from my concept?

Send the activity concept, intended user, target market, quantity by kit SKU, price direction and launch date. We review a component list, instructions, packaging and a costed sample route. Open decisions are confirmed before the sample scope and schedule are agreed.

What is the MOQ for a craft kit?

Standard orders start at 100 complete kits per SKU. Each colour, size or design is counted separately. A new mould, custom component, unusual material or complex packaging may require a higher minimum, stated in the quotation before sampling.

Do you prepare and print the instructions?

We can coordinate copy, illustration, translation and printing. The buyer approves the final content, language versions, warnings and artwork before production. The instruction version is linked to the approved kit and packaging reference.

Are children’s kits tested?

Testing is reviewed for the final kit, intended user, age group, materials and destination. For toy-classified or children’s kits, the review may include applicable EN 71 parts or US CPSIA and ASTM F963 requirements, as confirmed for the product and market. Appropriately scoped third-party testing can be coordinated; reports identify the tested samples and scope. Any available report is checked for relevance, and new tests or reassessment are agreed when needed.

How are sample charges and bulk timing agreed?

Samples using available references are commonly ready in 3 to 7 business days after the brief, required specifications and materials are confirmed. New colour, finish or packaging work commonly takes 7 to 15 business days. New tooling, unusual materials and revisions are scheduled in the quotation.

The quotation confirms the sample charge, tooling or development charges, included revision work and any conditions for crediting sample charges to a bulk order. A sample charge is not automatically refundable or creditable.

Repeat items are commonly produced in 20 to 45 business days after sample and material approval. New development, testing, packaging and shipment requirements are reviewed before the production schedule is confirmed. Production time and freight transit time are quoted separately.
